Hi Yankee,

These have an interesting look, not too disimilar from figure 6.0, number 534, in Lanknton's "Bead Timeline". I have seen some green and yellow-white ribbon-mosaic beads from the same type, but not this particular shade of green. At first glance, one might say the condition is too nice on the ones on the right side of the picture. But I must say I have also seen exceptional condition beads of my own, right alongside poor condition beads of the same type, coming from what appear to be solid irreputable sources. So I am tempted to believe that they are authuentic until proven guilty by some other means.

That would date them according to Lankton, at roughly 100 BC, more or less.

To back that thought up though, they also have a later 10th century sort of look as well. We knoew that this patternn was reproduced by the Middle Eastern bead makers of what we refer to as the Islamic era of beadmaking.

I am attaching a picture of the green & white beads in my collection.
